Robert Downey Jr. Tweets First Official Picture From Avengers: Age of Ultron [Update]

UPDATE: It seems that Mark Ruffalo has joined in the fun. He has released two additional set pictures on his Instagram account. It seems that The Avengers cast is having a little fun through social media: I for one, am glad that they did not reveal any movie spoilers.

Tons of unofficial set pictures from Avengers: Age of Ultron have graced the web: the Hulk invisibly smashing, Captain America’s new costume, and several other key characters. But now, our favorite Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr., has given the fans their first official look at the much anticipated sequel.

Obviously, when the fans were asking for a set picture, this is not what they were expecting. But still, it made thousands of people happy with nearly nineteen thousand retweets and almost thirty thousand favorites. So what exactly does this picture show? Well, absolutely nothing about The Avengers sequel; but it does show Robert Downy Jr. dressed in a safety vest, which would mean something if the executive producer was not dressed in the same exact precautionary garment. With that said, the man next to Iron Man is longtime Marvel producer Jeremy Latcham: his producer credits include Iron ManIron Man 2The AvengersGuardians of the Galaxy, and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

So basically the photo was one gigantic tease: a way for Robert Downey Jr. to have fun and appease his fans. I mean everyone has been asking for official set photos, but no one specified what type of photo. Either way, Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to be released on May 1, 2015: our favorite cast of Superheroes are joined by several new faces, which includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlett Witch, Paul Bettany as the Vision, and James Spader as the title villain Ultron.
